The United States Army has signed an additional $390 million contract with BAE Systems to expand production of the Bradley A4, the most modern version of the traditional infantry fighting vehicle.
The upgrade replaces older variants and strengthens the capabilities of Armored Combat Brigades, offering increased lethality, protection, and advanced electronic systems.
According to the manufacturer, the Bradley A4 incorporates improvements in power generation, diagnostics, digitized electronics, and networked sensor integration, enhancing situational awareness and performance in demanding terrains. The company highlights that the new contract keeps the U.S. armored vehicle industrial base active, with production spread across units in various states and deliveries expected through October 2026.
The modernization extends the lifespan of the platform, which has been central to U.S. Army armored operations for decades.
